SIM unlocking
In Switzerland, most mobile phones have SIM locks, i.e. phones cannot be used with SIM cards from other network providers without being unlocked.
At Orange, there are SIM locks on:
- all mobile phones with PrePay SIM cards sold after 30.09.2001
- exclusive Orange models sold with a subscription – e.g. iPhone and Signature Phones
You can request a SIM unlock any time after a subscription or a purchase of a new handset (purchase from Orange Switzerland exclusively). It will take maximum 14 days, and is completely free. Just contact Orange on 0800 700 600 or your fleet manager, or go to your nearest Orange Center.
Internet Everywhere modems only work with Orange SIM cards and cannot be unlocked.
These terms and conditions also apply to SIM cards designed for use with locked mobile phones on the Orange network (CoopMobile, mobilezone.net).
If a customer illegally unlocks a locked mobile phone, the warranty of the provider is void.
