Regardless of whether you are working on your computer at the workplace or on your BlackBerry, your data is constantly updated at both locations. Therefore, if you add an appointment or contact, create a memo or delete an email on your BlackBerry, the operation is automatically reproduced on your computer and vice versa. If you do not have your own server, the hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Service or BlackBerry Internet Service from Orange are attractive alternatives.

adjusting your BlackBerry® configuration
The BlackBerry® Enterprise Server environment is being changed by RIM (Research in Motion), the BlackBerry® service provider. To ensure that your company continues to enjoy a problem-free service, we ask that you check the configuration of your BlackBerry® infrastructure and firewall by 31.12.2009 at the latest and make any necessary adjustments.
Is your BlackBerry® Enterprise Server connected using the static IP address 193.109.81.33 ? If so, you will need to update your BlackBerry® Enterprise Server settings to a Service Routing Protocol (SRP) address (e.g. srp.ch.blackberry.net ) and adjust your firewall settings. This will ensure you can continue to enjoy the extensive benefits of the BlackBerry® infrastructure.
Are you already using srp.eu.blackberry.net or another srp.xx.blackberry.net address? If so, there is no need to change your BlackBerry® Enterprise Server settings. Check that the firewall on your company network permits all of the IP addresses below:

Without these settings, you may find that you cannot access the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server services. These would try to connect via IP addresses that are not accepted by your firewall.
Use the instructions to update your firewall settings and check your BlackBerry® Enterprise Server settings.
When checking the configuration settings, please ensure that:
- the IP addresses specified above are permitted by your company network's firewall.
- your BlackBerry® Enterprise Servers are using a Service Routing Protocol (SRP) address (e.g. srp.xx.blackberry.net ) instead of a static IP address.
