mobile communication virtually anywhere in Switzerland

Our geographical information system shows you where you can get reception. Just enter an address and you will get an immediate picture of whether coverage is available in that area. You will also see details of how the network will be expanded in the coming months.

GSM

GSM is the current international standard for digital mobile communication. The system is in widespread use and mainly designed for transmitting voice. Orange Switzerland has been offering its customers use of the GSM network since June 1999. Today, the Orange network covers over 99% of inhabited areas in Switzerland.

GPRS & EDGE

GPRS and EDGE enable faster data transfer on the GSM network. While EDGE is being deployed on the whole network and will provide data speeds up to 256 kbit/s, GPRS is already available on the whole GSM footprint.
GPRS and EDGE can be used to connect to the Internet where the UMTS network is not available yet.

international roaming

With more than 500 roaming agreements in over 200 countries, Orange is one of the operators with the broadest worldwide GSM coverage.
