how do I know if my software is up to date?
Hold down the ALT key and type the letters ESCR on the keyboard.
If your version is older than
5.0.0.681, your BlackBerry is not up to date.

- download the latest software version
- download Desktop Manager 5.01
Note: Please do not use any other file. This version is specifically intended for Orange Switzerland customers.
installation procedure
Important: The software update will delete your personal data. If you want to keep your data (contacts, appointments, tasks, emails, pictures), you must carry out a backup using Desktop Manager.
- Download and install Desktop Manager 5.01
- Download and install the software 5.0.0.681
- Connect your BlackBerry Bold to your PC using a USB cable
- If you want to keep your personal data, use Desktop Manager to backup your BlackBerry.
- If the update doesn't start automatically, go to load applications, update applications, reboot.
- Note: Updating your phone may take up to 25 minutes. DO NOT disconnect your phone while the update is in process.
- Once the update is complete, your phone will automatically reboot. Disconnect the USB cable and let your phone reboot. This may take several minutes. Follow the instructions on screen until rebooting is complete.
- If you have carried out a backup, do not forget to load it onto your BlackBerry before using it again.
