how to recharge your PrePay account

There are loads of different ways to recharge your Orange PrePay account, so there's sure to be one that suits you. You can recharge anytime you like, at any point during the month and enjoy great value bonuses every time you do. If you prefer, you can even set up an automatic recharge so it all happens for you, at either a set time each month or when your credit reduces to a certain amount.

using a PrePay recharge voucher: recharge your own account

If you buy a recharge voucher from one of our partner outlets above, here's how to use it to recharge your own PrePay account:

  • Mobile Self Service

    For free on your mobile phone, enter #121* then the recharge code printed on the recharge voucher (e.g. 123456789012) then # and press the call button. Please ensure that no spaces are included,
    for example: #121*RECHARGECODE#

  • calling within Switzerland

    For free on your mobile phone, call 0800 700 555 and select 'recharge your account', enter the recharge code printed on the recharge voucher (e.g. 123456789012) and press #.
    The interactive voice response system will recognise your phone number automatically and you'll hear confirmation that your transaction will be processed and the account will be recharged.

  • calling from abroad[1]

    On your mobile phone, call +41 78 700 55 55 and select 'recharge your account', enter the recharge code printed on the recharge voucher (e.g. 123456789012) and press #.
    The interactive voice response system will recognise your phone number automatically and you'll hear confirmation that your transaction will be processed and the account will be recharged.

  • my account

    Once you've registered at my account, you can log in anytime and select 'PrePay recharge' and follow the instructions.

using a PrePay recharge voucher: recharge another PrePay account

If you buy a recharge voucher from one of our partner outlets above, here's how to use it to recharge another PrePay account:

  • Mobile Self Service

    For free dial #121* then the recharge code printed on the recharge voucher (e.g. 123456789012) then * then the phone number of the account you want to recharge, then # and press the call button.
    Please ensure that no spaces are included, for example: #121*RECHARGECODE*PHONENUMBER#

  • calling within Switzerland

    For free dial 0800 700 555, choose your preferred language then enter the phone number you want to recharge, then enter the recharge code printed on the recharge voucher (e.g. 123456789012) and press #.
    You'll hear confirmation that your transaction will be processed and the account will be recharged.

  • calling from abroad[1]

    Dial +41 78 700 55 55, choose your preferred language then enter the phone number you want to recharge, then enter the recharge code printed on the recharge voucher (e.g. 123456789012) and press #.
    You'll hear confirmation that your transaction will be processed and the account will be recharged.

recharging from abroad

There are 3 ways you can recharge from abroad, so simply choose the one that's most convenient for you:

  • online

    Available anytime (24 hours a day / 7 days a week), from anywhere in the world

  • using an Orange PrePay

    Recharge voucher (n.b. which can only be purchased in Switzerland before you leave)

  • Customer Care

    You can call to ask them to recharge your account with a credit card or your Orange Collect Card, using the identification number agreed during your registration with Orange[2]. Tell them your credit card details and desired recharge amount and the Customer Care representative will confirm that your recharge has been made. You'll also receive a confirmation by SMS.

recharging with a swipe card

You can recharge with a swipe card at any Orange Centers or Swiss Post Office. 

Recharge amounts vary depending on the outlet: at Orange Centres, it's from CHF 10.– to CHF 400.–; at Post Offices, it's either CHF 30.– , CHF 50.– or CHF 100.–. 

Once your swipe card is activated and assigned to a mobile number, you can use it to recharge the PrePay account, by swiping it through the terminal at the store's counter. Simply choose the amount you want to recharge with and pay with any of the payment methods accepted at the point of sale.

The mobile number it's linked to will be recharged. You'll receive a printed receipt and the recipient of the recharge will receive a confirmation SMS. 

Each recharge swipe card can only be linked to one phone number but you can have several swipe cards linked to the same phone number.

other useful PrePay information

  • low credit warning

    When the remaining time on your account is down to 60 and then 30 seconds, you'll hear a warning, triple-tone; when you place a call and your remaining time is less than 60 seconds, an announcement will indicate how much time you have left to talk.

  • keeping your account active

    To keep your mobile number and credit, you need to regularly recharge your PrePay account, call, text, or use the Internet for a fee, at least once every 360 days. Otherwise, your account will expire 360 days after your last activity and you'll lose your credit and mobile number. You can check the expiry date at any time by calling 0800 700 555 free from your mobile phone or by dialling #123*3*1#.

  • checking your balance

    Mobile Self Service: enter #121# then the call button to check your remaining balance or call 0800 700 555 for free and choose 'check your balance'

  • last call information

    Call 0800 700 555 for free and choose 'last call information' to be informed of the duration and costs of your last call (the system will automatically recognise your number)

  • SMS notification

    To activate or deactivate this service, call 0800 700 555 for free and choose 'SMS notification after call' to be automatically informed of the duration and cost after each call

  • check your recharge history

    You can check the date, time, amount and channel of your last 3 transactions by logging on to my account and going to the recharge section
