As an Orange customer, you automatically have a free voicemail service on your mobile: your Orange Box. Here are the answers to the most frequently asked Orange Box questions:
Can I listen to my voicemails from another phone?
Yes. You can call your Orange Box from any other mobile or fixed line by dialling 086 then your own phone number (e.g. 086 078 xxx xx xx). You just need to set up your access password beforehand, by selecting 2 ('personal options') then 4 ('password') in the main Orange Box menu. For security reasons, avoid using the same number four times (e.g. 1111) or consecutive numbers (e.g. 1234).
What should I do if I've forgotten my Orange Box password?
If you've forgotten your password, you can simply create a new one by calling your Orange Box from your mobile phone and selecting 2 ('personal options') then 4 ('password') in the main menu.
Can I switch off my Orange Box when I go abroad?
The best thing to do is to change your call transfer settings, so that any unanswered calls no longer go direct to your voicemail. To do this, go into your phone settings.
How do I record my personal greeting?
To record your personal voicemail message, call your Orange Box (by dialling 086 then your own phone number – e.g. 086 078 XXX XX XX), select option 2 ('personal options') and follow the set-up instructions.
How do I open and read faxes which I've received in my Orange Box?
Faxes can be sent to your mobile, using your Orange Box number (e.g. 086 XXX XX XX). To retrieve them, call your Orange Box and then dial 4. You can choose to print to a pre-defined number or a different one that you'll be prompted to input.
Can I pre-record a voice message?
Yes, you can pre-record a message for Orange Box to send either immediately or at a later date by selecting '3' on the Orange Box main menu, then following the instructions.
How do I forward or reply to a voicemail?
After listening to a message you can forward it by pressing 6 (even adding comments to be sent with it) or you can reply immediately by pressing 8.
How long are my messages stored in my Orange Box?
Customers with subscription: unheard messages are kept for 32 days; heard messages are kept for 6 days before deletion. Your Orange Box has a 2-hour capacity. Prima, Orange Comfort and PrePay customers' unheard messages are kept for 16 days, heard messages are kept for 3 days before deletion. Your Orange Box has a 1-hour capacity.
