Mobile Internet settings - general information

On this page you will find more information about the Mobile Internet settings and how to configure your mobile phone to use it. Your phone should already be configured for Mobile Internet use, if not Orange will try to automatically update your device. However, sometimes this automatic detection does not work, because your phone is not supported or has been locked to another network. If your mobile phone cannot receive the settings using the SMS mode you will find hereafter the generic information that your phone needs in order to be configured.

what is a Mobile Internet setting and why do I need one?

A Mobile Internet setting enables your phone to know how to connect to the internet and is needed for you to access mobile internet sites and pages or your email account from your mobile phone. After having configured your mobile phone with a Mobile Internet setting, you will be able to access the mobile internet, download content, look up or search for information and news, check your emails and Social Networks etc

what will change on my mobile phone once I receive a Mobile Internet setting?

Mobile Internet settings only affect your connection to the Mobile Internet, they do not impact the way you have personalised you mobile phone or any other information on it. All you need to do is save the settings when asked and then select 'Yes' again if asked to save as default.

Please note that the wording of the fields to update may vary depending on the manufacturer and the model of your mobile phone. The order is also different depending on the mobile phone, if configuring your phone manually it is advised to have the user manual with you for reference.

These should be found on your phone within 'Settings' menu, 'Internet', 'WAP', 'Data' or 'Connectivity' could also be used depending on phone type.

Data account name		 Orange Internet This is name you are giving to your Mobile Internet account. It will appear in your settings list if you have more than one account. 'Orange Internet' is given as an example but you are free to enter any name you want. Just ensure the name used here is the same one selected at the end of the configuration process.
Data bearer GPRS This corresponds to the type of connection you want to use
Access point name (APN) internet
(for Prima Surf: click)		 This value represents which way your phone will access the Orange network
Username - No Username is required for connection
Password / Prompt Password - No Password is required for connection
Authentication Normal You will use the standard authentication mode
Homepage http://mobile.orange.ch This is the page you will reach when you connect. This address is your access to Orange Services and also your starting point for accessing the Mobile Internet

213.55.128.2		 This is the DNS server address to get connected via the Orange Network
Port number 80 This is the port to access the server
Select your setting in use Orange Internet Activate 'Orange Internet' or the name used at the start of this process to get connected
